New Software

As I lurk around other groups discussion threads, I learn lots of new things. Group 3 is having a problem having a synchronous discussion because of problems with WIMBA. In trying to find a solution, they suggest using:

• Connect Now - An Adobe web conferencing software [which only allows for three members to meet simultaneously if using the free software]
  
• WiZiQ [you need to get an account which only takes a minute or two. It is suggested that the best way to use WiZiQ is through a headset with a microphone; don’t bother with a webcam and try not to receive audio via your speakers]
• Ning: Group 3 has also created their own social network using Ning - another platform where there can be many participants
• PBWiki: Our pedagogical event is on the PBWiki platform which allows for many participants. It is so much more sophisticated than the ANGEL wiki so I had no idea what possibilities it has - we can upload files, share files, folders, etc. It's great for collaboration
